CHAPTER 7
The vectorial program of adobe Illustrator allows to change easily the form and the sizes of objects, their orientation in space that is represented self-evident. At the same time, besides manual operations for vectorial objects numerous means on their change and deformation ? vectorial effects the part from which is implemented in the form of tools, and a part ? in the form of filters are provided.
Vectorial filters should not be confused to filters of a pointwise drawing which also are included in the program. The description of pointwise filters is resulted in chapter 12.
It is possible to transform the selected objects ? to change their size, to scale, rotate and etc. For this purpose in the program the various toolkit is provided.
To tools which change the form of objects (transform them), tools Rotate (Turn) (
With these tools it is possible to work in an interactive mode ("by eye") or to use an appropriate dialog box which allows to enter exact numeric data and to change various parameters of operation of the tool.
These dialog boxes and commands can be caused by means of shortcut menus which open right mouse button click.
All tools intended for transformation of objects, carry out the influence on objects concerning some fixed point connected to object, ? conversion center (point of origin). By default this point is allocated at geometrical center of object (fig. 7.1), but can be if needed moved to any place of a working field, thereby providing original influence on object (for example, at scaling or object rotation) (fig. 7.2).
In Adobe Illustrator program there is a possibility of fast repetition of actions without repeated setting of parameters that considerably accelerates operation. Command Transform Again (to Transform repeatedly) which allows to repeat the last relocation, scaling, rotation, reflection and shift the arbitrary number of times is presented to menu Object/Transform (Object/transformation).
The only stipulation ? repetition is necessary for fulfilling immediately after transformation. And unique restriction ? the given command does not work with tool Blend (Transformation).
The command can be caused also by means of the shortcut menu (right mouse button click).
